    • Surprise or music box
    • Puzzles, 2 to 6 large pieces with knobs
    • Books/recordings with songs, rhymes, simple stories, & pictures
    • Wide watercolor markers, nontoxic fat crayons, large blank paper
    • Geometric, unit, or cardboard blocks
    • People and animals, vehicles: wood or rubber
    • Pounding bench
    • Sand & water play: plastic measuring cups, boats, containers, washable doll
    • Large cardboard box to crawl in 
    • Toys that jingle or move when used
    • Kitchen cupboard of safe pots, pans, lids, and utensils
